Slough Bus Station

Slough

According to the Borough council’s website:

“The old Brunel bus station closed on the night of 27 May [2011] with the last scheduled departure at 00.16, route 81 to Hounslow.

“The new bus station opened on the morning of 28 May [2011] with the first scheduled departure at at 04:48, route 81 to Hounslow.

“The facilities in the new bus station include a café, newsagent and waiting areas, together with offices for the bus operators.

“Designed by Matthew Bedward, of Bblur architecture, the form of the building comes from the idea of different wavelengths of light inspired by Slough’s famous astronomer, William Herschel, and his renowned infra-red experiment. The building is clad in aluminium panels which create a softly textured metallic surface which will change character with the varying light conditions.”
